Climate change
When these fossil fuels burn, they release greenhouse gases
- mostly carbon dioxide (CO2). These gases trap the Sun's heat and cause the
planet's temperature to rise.
Though our planet’s forests and oceans absorb greenhouse
gases from the atmosphere through photosynthesis and other processes, these
natural carbon sinks can’t keep up with our rising emissions. The resulting
buildup of greenhouse gases is causing alarmingly fast warming worldwide.
How will it affect?
Many people think climate change just means warmer
temperaturas but is more that it because it is connected with others
meteorological phenomena.
According to the World Health Organization, “climate change will cause approximately 250,000 additional deaths per year” between 2030 and 2050.
What can we do?
- Turn off lights and appliances when you don’t need them.
- Eat lees meat (produce methane)
- When you go to work you will leave the car at home and walk, or you will use public transport.
- You will respect and protect green spaces.
- You will reduce your consumption and waste.
